Kim has been working at LetsGrow.com since 2020.

After studying Movement Technology at the Hague University of Applied Sciences, I started my working career at Welzorg in rehabilitation technology. Here I enjoyed working for over 10 years in various positions; from resource advisor, to product specialist to product manager.

After 10 years, I decided I wanted to broaden my horizon and work in another sector, which is how I ended up at Royal Brinkman. In the more than two years for Royal Brinkman, I got the chance to learn a lot about horticulture. I also started studying Business Intelligence and Big Data alongside my work at Royal Brinkman. This is actually how I subsequently stumbled upon Plant Empowerment and LetsGrow.com.

The Plant Empowerment theory, where everything is about balance (just like ordinary life) is something I fully believe in. A plant knows how to grow. It is up to us to ensure that the plant can use all its energy to grow and produce.

By understanding the physiological and physical laws (how a plant grows and which physical laws affect it) and combining these with data generated by sensors, we are able to do this! By then presenting this in our dashboards, we make these things easy to understand.

The thing I enjoy most about my job is talking to clients. I especially want to find out what exactly is going on with them and what challenges they are facing. Then I look at how we can support them with our products and meet these challenges. I also really like the combination of the natural aspect and the innovations around Artificial Intelligence (AI). I am most proud of my work when I receive a (big) compliment from a customer. That a customer indicates they really do get added value from our functionalities. Or the surprise clients express when they gain insight into what they have actually been doing for years and where there might still be room for optimisation.

I would describe LetsGrow.com as a flat organisation with a great working atmosphere! You can walk into anyone's office for help or questions. Precisely because the field we work in is so specialised, you need the colleagues from the various departments to be able to offer clients suitable solutions.

The contact with my colleagues is good. Once in a while we plan a Friday afternoon drink. In addition, fun outings are organised by our staff association.
