I had just graduated and had once looked into Data Science-related roles during a gap year between my bachelor’s and master’s degrees. After finishing my studies, I came across LetsGrow.com through an open application – and that’s how I ended up here. I had worked in a greenhouse myself for ten years, so it’s really nice to now help other growers with our innovative solutions.
What makes my job so enjoyable? Several things! The contact with customers, the variety of projects, and of course the fun with colleagues.
Technology and innovation play a big role in my work. By now, everyone has probably heard of AI – partly because of ChatGPT – and I use it a lot in my job. Together with Python, we use it to develop solutions and tools.
Those are the moments I feel proud: when all the hard work results in a solution that truly helps the grower.
In five years, I hope to still be part of the LetsGrow.com team. I see LetsGrow.com as a company that will play an even bigger role in the global sustainability of horticulture. The demand for data-driven solutions will only increase, and we have the knowledge to contribute to that. I’m looking forward to shaping that future together with my colleagues.
A moment I felt proud? It’s always nice when you’ve worked on something that actually gets used by customers – a certain tool or a calculation. Those are the moments I feel proud: when all the hard work results in a solution that truly helps the grower.
Something I’ve learned here that I didn’t expect beforehand is how important the Azure platform is in our work. We use it to train Machine Learning models and run our pipelines. I wasn’t aware beforehand that things like that play such a big role in developing a working product.
