'LetsGrow.com works in a straight-forward way'
Test supervisor Sjoerd Nieboer of GreenQ Improvement Centre continually researches crop strategies and techniques at GreenQ Improvement Centre in Bleiswijk and uses LetsGrow.com with many projects to get a better overview of the crop data. "It works really well."
The research at Improvement Centre is supervised by committees made up of growers, suppliers, researchers and advisors. Current research includes the ‘Working together in Amaryllis’ project. The aim is to achieve a 30% production increase by improving climate management. The growers participating in the ‘New Way of Growing’ project also use LetsGrow.com intensively.
"The growers in such a supervising committee meet weekly to evaluate the strategy. For this meeting, I will use LetsGrow.com to make an overview of the most important variables", says Nieboer. "I do this based on the growers’ wish list: I show the required variables by means of graphics and overviews. Then they simply need to connect their laptop with the beamer during the meeting."
LetsGrow.com does not play a role only during the tests at the GreenQ Improvement Centre. LetsGrow.com also plays a major role during training courses, for example. Nieboer: "We are currently training the growth managers of a Greek client, 'Wonderplant'. LetsGrow.com is an excellent tool with which to teach people how to produce."
As a test supervisor at the GreenQ Improvement Centre, Nieboer is a regular user of LetsGrow.com. This is the reason why he has been supervisor of LetsGrow.com since the end of 2010. He can now personally create groups with users. "The way in which LetsGrow.com have picked up on this has been ideal. For example, I had my own mini-training."
"I am extremely enthusiastic about LetsGrow.com", states Nieboer. "It is very straight- forward to use, and LetsGrow.com is very stable compared to other systems, which is essential. Malfunctions are rare, and in the event one does occur it is simple to fix. So, do I have a wish list? Only one: keep going like this!"
